Ardstraw is a very old congregation; the first recorded minister is Rev. William Moorcroft who was installed in1655 and was also in charge of work in Badoney in 1659
Surviving records of this congregation have been microfilmed by the staff of PRONI, Belfast where they may be consulted: Baptisms 1837-90 & Marriages 1837-1939 (Ref. MIC.1P/50)
The condition of the original records, a degree of difficulty in discerning the handwriting and the quality of filming make transcription challenging and wherever possible the Ardstraw Tithe Applotment Book (1833) and Griffiths Valuation (1858) have been consulted for confirmation of families and townland addresses.
