February 19 1831 [Died] On Tuesday, the 8th inst., Mr. Christopher Cowan, of Strabane, for the greater part of his life a leader in the Methodist Society. (Londonderry Sentinel)
September 10 1833 [Died] On Sunday last, at the house of his daughter, Mrs. Cowan, of this town, “in the sure and certain hope of glorious resurrection, through our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ,’ Mr Joseph Gibson, at the advanced age of 84 years. To a mind highly cultivated and stored with varied and useful knowledge, he added every virtue that adorns the Christian.
