***ORIGINAL SPELLING HAS BEEN RETAINED***
We, the Members of the POMEROY Corps of INFANTRY, on Parade, assembled Saturday, the 3rd of March 1798 – in order to keep up the good character we hope we have hitherto been entitled to, and prevent false and malicious reports, going abroad of the Corps –
Do voluntarily make oath, that we will not so long as we continue in the corps, go out on any Racking business, or be riding or assisting in any party by day or night, unless for our own protection if attacked or ordered out by one of our Officers, or some other Officer authorised by Government, so to do.
