NEW BRIDGE AT LONDONDERRY—In Londonderry the new iron toll bridge which spans the Foyle has been formally opened by Sir Sydney H. Waterlow, governor of the Irish Society of London. Eighty thousand pounds were reipiired to free the bridge; oue-half of this sum was contributed by the society, and the remainder by taxation spread over twenty years.
