Comments: I've been trying to find out more about my family history, I am only able to look at the census of 1911 which shows my Great Great Grandfather William R Sharkey from Lisfearty (Clananeese, Tyrone). Is there anywhere that I can find out who his father was and take a look further back?

Comments: Hi everyone, my ancestor was John Brown, from the Oughtdoorish townland, born around 1832. I think his father was Hugh (or psosibly Patrick) and his mother was Margaret (nee Murphy), but as records are scarce much of this is supposition and not documented. Based on his Australian records, I think John may have served as a policeman for a while in Tyrone (or elsewhere in Ireland) before he emigrated to Australia in the 1850s, with his brother Patrick. They both ended up in Victoria, John in Melbourne (as a policeman) and Patrick in Sunbury (as a publican).

Comments: Like others I've stumbled across this whilst doing ancestral searches. I'm after any past history of sisters Sarah and Frances Caldwell who both married at the Killeter Presbyterian Church, Termonamongan within 2 years of each other (1854 and 1856). Both emigrated with husbands to New Zealand (via Australia (chasing gold)), and my wife's family is derived from Sarah. I'm aware their father was William, but that's as much as I know. Any help would be appreciated.

Comments: I am looking for any genealogical information on Rev. R. A. McFarlane (Robert Adams McFarlane). I am trying to confirm family lore that he is a distant relation (Nth great uncle) of myself. According to this website, Rev McFarland was a minister at the Reformed Presbyterian church in Stranorlar. According to this sitehe was from Mulvin. I would really appreciate anything related to parents, grandparents, spouse, children, brothers, sisters, etc. Family lore says he had a reverend nephew that had his first calling to a church in Glasgow.
Any help or hints you could offer would be greatly appreciated.
Comments: My 3rd great grandfather was John Jack (1805-1875)of Tirkernaghan, Donaghedy, tyrone. I believe he married Margaret.
Would this Margaret make sense? Or does anyone know anything else?
January 20, 1829 By the Rev. Mathew Clarke, on Tuesday last, MR. JOHN JACK, of Meahey, to MARGARET, eldest daughter of MR. PATRICK McFARLAND, of Dergbrough, Upper Badony
Thank you. Liz

Comments: Thank you for your web site & interesting information. I have a McCORMICK family tree & am descended from Charles McCormick of Hollymount, Castlederg, 1719-1803 who married Miss Osborne; James McCormick of Ganvahan, died 17.7.1841, & married Ann Crozier; son Rev. Charles McCormick, 1783-1863, Methodist minister, married Henrietta Smith 27.9.1811: their sons John & William Ormsby McCormick are my gt gt grandparents (my gt grandparents were first cousins!) Questions please: do you know the parents of 1719 Charles McCormick, & any further back? Do Hollymount & Ganvahan still exist, & where is the location? Do you have any info about Ann Crozier, please? Thank you, & best wishes from Dawn
