Comments: I am searching for ancestral records for Mary Ann Woodburn (c 1827-1846). She was born in Garvagh, Derry and died in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada. I think her father was James Woodburn (1792-1869) and Martha Mayne (c1808-1879). All appear to have been born in Garvagh. So many in the family have the same first names that I am getting confused. Can anyone point me in the right direction? I have not found them here, or I don't think so. I am pretty sure they were affiliated with the First Garvagh Presbyterian church. Thank you for your time.

Comments: I've been trying to find out more about my family history, I am only able to look at the census of 1911 which shows my Great Great Grandfather William R Sharkey from Lisfearty (Clananeese, Tyrone). Is there anywhere that I can find out who his father was and take a look further back?

Comments: Hi everyone, my ancestor was John Brown, from the Oughtdoorish townland, born around 1832. I think his father was Hugh (or psosibly Patrick) and his mother was Margaret (nee Murphy), but as records are scarce much of this is supposition and not documented. Based on his Australian records, I think John may have served as a policeman for a while in Tyrone (or elsewhere in Ireland) before he emigrated to Australia in the 1850s, with his brother Patrick. They both ended up in Victoria, John in Melbourne (as a policeman) and Patrick in Sunbury (as a publican).

Comments: Like others I've stumbled across this whilst doing ancestral searches. I'm after any past history of sisters Sarah and Frances Caldwell who both married at the Killeter Presbyterian Church, Termonamongan within 2 years of each other (1854 and 1856). Both emigrated with husbands to New Zealand (via Australia (chasing gold)), and my wife's family is derived from Sarah. I'm aware their father was William, but that's as much as I know. Any help would be appreciated.
