Picken, Anna C. (nee Craig) | b.c.1851; d.1940 | William Houston |
Chambers, George Esq, J.P - b.1824, d.1901, son of John and Martha (Maclear) Chambers of Newtownstewart, George stayed in Ireland despite seeing his brother and sister emigrate to the USA. In 1853 he married Eliza Goodwin Keohler of Enniscorthy, Wexford, Ireland. There was no record found of their having children. They lived in Dublin, first at the Highfield House in Rathgar, where his nephew William Henry Wildey II (son of his sister Mary Ann) visited them from New York City. Later, as Secretary of Star Life Assurance Co., he and his wife lived right on St. Stephens Green in Dublin. It is interesting to note that their nephew, Thomas Goodwin Keohler, himself a published poet, was friends with James Joyce. Thomas later became Secretary for Hely’s Print Works in Dublin. George died at the Shelbourne Hotel in Dublin, not far from their home. George made it into the 1901 census just before his death.
